The curly hair community in British Columbia hasn’t had a dedicated space to come together, connect, and celebrate natural texture.

CROWNFEST was created to change that.

This is more than events — it’s a safe, empowering space where waves, curls, and coils are honored. A place to learn from experts, discover new products, share experiences, and most importantly, build real community.

Because curls deserve a stage.
And the community deserves a home.

The FOUNDER

CROWNFEST was founded by Aris De la Rosa, a curly hair specialist based in Kelowna, British Columbia, and the creator behind Curls by Aris.

With a deep passion for natural texture and community empowerment, Aris has dedicated her career to helping people embrace their waves, curls, and coils with confidence. Through her work behind the chair, she recognized something missing in British Columbia — a space where the curly hair community could gather, learn, and celebrate together.

CROWNFEST was born from that vision.

What started as a dream to bring curl education and representation to BC is now becoming a movement — one that honors every crown and creates space for connection, culture, and confidence.
